Sites allow their music to attract people to share and be promoted by these sites. they land on or not the artist's website. Again this reduces the chances of attracting fans who are looking for your content; including tour, merchandise and music information. Searching for the song Lonely Boy's music video shows a generic video search instead of the artist's website. The figure now appears in a general video search but ignores the artist's website. An artist or record label (for example) might have a video page on their website.
Each video has a separate page with the correct title tag, search engine friendly structure and some content. However as you can see in the image above their website does not appear in the top rankings for searches for their music videos. This is because queries with (singular only) appear to moible number data pull generic video results to the #1 position in most searches. The website does not have a video sitemap nor does it use or use any markup to help tell engines and social networking sites that this is a video page.
The result is that when their website eventually appears for a song it shows the main video page instead of the specific page for that song. Finally we have the issue of encouraging and leveraging user-generated content to promote your music brand. Artists like and have done a great job of letting fans create videos using their music. Yet we have yet to see large-scale use in music video production. Fans create many types of music videos to help promote an artist's music including anime music videos, gaming music videos, and fan animation.
