Devotion. A Story of Heroes is based on the book by Adam Makos, and arises from the enormous personal connection between some of the film's team and the story. It tells the historical events of a couple of American pilots, including the first African-American aviator, who risked their lives during the Korean War and became the most famous pilots of the North American Navy. The project was started by renowned actor Glen Powell ( Top Gun: Maverick, Hidden Figures ), who is also the executive producer of the film, when after reading Makos' book, he felt the need to tell the story of these men who dedicated their lives to to the armed forces in a heroic manner. Director J.D.
